In July 2023, I was given notice at my job.
My last official day was August 31st, and although I was offered another role, I knew deep down I did not want to move away from the work I actually cared about.
I had four weeks to figure out what came next.
No office.
No perfect plan.
No big savings.
Just a laptop, a desk in my room, and the horrible feeling that I could not afford to fail again.
Five days after leaving my job, I incorporated my business.
This is the story of how losing my job led to building a business that has now done over £250,000 in turnover. But this is not a business guru video, and it is not about pretending I had everything figured out.
It is about job loss, starting again, building something useful, making mistakes, learning how to lead, supporting people in the community, and realising that sometimes the worst timing forces you to do the thing you were probably meant to do.
