In today’s episode, we’re making our way to the little town of McDaniels, Kentucky, where I’ll be taking on Porgie’s Chow Wagon’s “Georgie Porgie” Specialty Hot Dog Challenge, a feast loaded with unique hot dogs and plenty of delicious looking toppings!
Porgie’s Chow Wagon is a family-owned restaurant located near Rough River Lake in McDaniels, Kentucky, specializing in house-made hot dogs, creative street food, and flavors you definitely won’t find anywhere else. Opened in 2021 by Chris and Emilie, the restaurant was created in honor of Chris’s father, George “Porgie” Berry. Known for their handcrafted hot dogs, fun specialty creations like the PB&J Dog and Baja Dog, and welcoming small-town atmosphere, Porgie’s has become a must-visit destination for both locals and travelers looking for something different.
The “Georgie Porgie” Challenge features eight specialty hot dogs of your choice from the 16 unique options on the menu, along with a one-pound order of either their Loaded BBQ Tots or Loaded Chili Cheese Fries. You’ll also need to finish a large fountain drink and a dessert sampler featuring a funnel cake, deep-fried Oreos, and deep-fried banana bites. If you can finish all the food within one hour, you'll get the $75 meal free, a T-shirt, and a photo on Porgie's Wall of Fame.
