Description
In this Geely EX2 UK review, Ben gets behind the wheel of Geely’s new compact electric hatchback to find out whether its combination of low price, impressive practicality and generous standard equipment can take on the best small EVs already on sale.
Known as the Xingyuan in China, where it became the country’s best-selling car in 2025 with more than 450,000 sold, the EX2 is now coming to the UK with prices starting from £20,990.
For the money, there’s a lot to talk about. The Geely EX2 offers up to 214 miles of range, a 375-litre boot, 70-litre frunk, 36 storage compartments and enough rear space for five adults. It’s also rear-wheel drive, features independent rear suspension and comes with an eight-year/125,000-mile warranty.
There’s plenty of technology too, including a huge 14.6-inch central touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, electric front seats and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality capable of supplying up to 3.3kW.
But what is the Geely EX2 actually like to drive, and does its affordable price mean compromises elsewhere?
