Mercedes-Benz announced the start of production of the new electric C-Class in Kecskemét on July 13, 2026. It is the first battery-electric Mercedes-Benz core model manufactured at this plant.

The approximately €1 billion expansion includes new body and final assembly halls, a second press shop, a new paint shop and an on-site battery assembly facility. Digital production systems include the MO360 production ecosystem, AI-supported quality applications and a complete Digital Factory Twin created in NVIDIA Omniverse.
