Description
In 2015 I was standing at Everest Base Camp when the 7.8 earthquake struck. Within seconds a massive avalanche broke loose and slammed directly into camp. I was at ground zero as the blast hit, a wall of white, rocks and ice swallowing everything in its path. More than 9,000 people were killed across Nepal that day and over 18 people at Base Camp lost their lives. Dozens were injured. It remains the deadliest day in Everest’s history. I am lucky to be alive.
