🎼 CONTEMPORARY DIALOGUE WITH THE PAST (Damijan Močnik) The central part of the film introduces a unique dimension: three modern interpretations created by multi-award-winning composer Damijan Močnik. He wrote about his process:
"Listening closely to ancient times and exploring the hidden meanings of selected texts awakened a special feeling within me, sparking fresh ideas for musical composition. Melodic fragments blossom on the one hand into vibrant, dance-like music, and on the other into surprisingly rich-sounding harmonies. Thus, I established a dialogue with the past through a new sonority. The sounds of medieval instruments further round off the excitement of the sonic fresco that unfolds before us."
🏰 SACRED PLACE (A Unique History) Recorded in the breathtaking acoustics of the National Shrine of St. Joseph in Ljubljana. This church is a monument to resilience: built with the people's gifts, it was confiscated by authorities in 1949 and turned into a film studio. For decades, the altar was hidden; the space served cinema, not prayer. Today, restored to its former beauty, it serves as the perfect location for this cinematic, spiritual production—uniting its history of art and faith.
📜 ABOUT HILDEGARD OF BINGEN German Benedictine abbess, poet, composer, and mystic, she is considered the founder of scientific natural history in Germany. She is one of the few known composers to have written both the music and the words. Her works, such as Scivias, are among the deepest spiritual texts of the High Middle Ages.
