Mitch McConnell has been missing after his latest hospital stint, and everyone thinks he’s probably dead and they’re hiding it from us so they don’t have to do a special election in Kentucky, basically giving Thomas Massie a chance to run for Senate. It’s kind of amazing. I spoke with a KY state senator in February about what should replace the Jefferson Davis statue in the rotunda, and he said Carl Brashear (Men of Honor). But he put forth legislation that would guarantee that spot to a Mitch McConnell statue. Only one problem: you can’t erect statues of the living in Kentucky. Verdict: he’s dead.
