This is the story I've been sitting on for years. After I stopped working at Crooked Media, I sold a television show executive produced by someone I'll call "Lock" and what happened next is an open Hollywood secret. There's a Deux Moi blind item involved. Draw your own conclusions.
I'm Akilah Hughes. I wrote a book (Penguin published it), won a Webby, wrote sketches for Comedy Central (including this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8NuagM0TUQ),
and host the podcast Rebel Spirit for iHeart and How Is This Better with Courier Newsroom. I've been in the entertainment industry long enough to have stories and I'm short enough on patience to finally tell them.
Filmed live at Afters, a storytelling show (with a live, improvised jazz band) in Brooklyn where people finally tell the stories that happened after an ending.
