My dear friend Pastor Kris is in dire need of a new laptop. I know Pastor Kris from personally serving with him in Madagascar.
Two months ago, he was in a terrible crash while riding as a passenger on a bus. Sadly, the two people sitting directly in front of him lost their lives. What a frightening thing to experience. By God’s grace, Pastor Kris is still here, having sustained only minor injuries. During the crash, his laptop was in his backpack at his feet and sustained damage. Pastor Kris humbly asked me if I could help him get another laptop. It would be my honor, so I’ve created this GoFundMe and I’m asking if anyone would like to partner with me in achieving this goal.
His entire ministry is orchestrated from his laptop. He uses GarageBand to compose music for the church. He does all the graphic design for the handouts, flyers, and church signage himself. He uses iMovie to make outreach videos. He is an artist, musician, composer, singer, and trilingual (French, English, Malagasy) Pastor. A true Renaissance Man!
He is a man of great humility, wisdom, and compassion. If we surpass the goal, I will donate the overage to his ministry. I can promise he will steward the funds with integrity! God is blessing his ministry as the congregation has expanded beyond capacity, so they must build a bigger church building behind the current one. They have goals to plant a second church in Mananjary (southern Madagascar) in 2026, and start a summer camp for young Malagasy Christians, God willing.
Pastor Kris is currently in the USA(!) speaking with churches about his ministry goals. I am hoping to make the purchase in one week, so that I have time to ship it to him before he leaves the USA in mid-February. (Last time, we had to find a missionary going to Madagascar to hand-carry it to him, because the mail service within Madagascar can be unreliable.)

He is the Pastor of At Fiangonana Batista fiainam-Baovao (New Life Baptist Church), in Antsirabe Madagascar.
Why is the goal set at $3,000?

FYI Pastor Kris did need the AppleCare on the previous laptop. He traveled by bus over 4+ hours (one way) from his home in Antsirabe to the Apple store in Antananarivo to have it serviced.
If we don't make the goal, I will reduce the specs, for example, lower the memory or SSD storage capacity, etc., or buy an older model of MacBook Pro.
Why can’t Pastor Kris buy one for himself in Madagascar?
The median income in Madagascar is around $280 per month. And electronics cost TWICE as much in Madagascar as they do in America. I know this from actually being there. And I’m told, if you’re buying it in Madagascar, there is a chance your item is filled with counterfeit parts.
Why a Mac and not a PC?
Because of the integrated Mac apps like GarageBand and iMovie, and the ease of using it with his iPhone.
Why a laptop and not a desktop?
Because he will need to take it with him between home and church frequently.
