My 2007 Chevy HHR is making strange whirring noise when it is shifted into Reverse or Drive. The noise continues when the engine is in gear idling. It can also be heard when driving the car at city speeds. On the highway you generally can't hear it. My guess is that it is the torque convertor, but let me know in the comments what you think the noise is. Thanks!
