2014 Chevy Cruze Oil Cooler Replacement Helpful Hints

Description

I had to replace the Turbo oil cooler on my 2014 Cruze with the 1.4 Turbo motor. Here are my observations that will hopefully help you while doing the same repair. I watched several vids on Youtube before I started the repair, I found the "Repair Geek " Cruze oil cooler vid to be especially helpful. Be patient, take your time, use penetrating oil on the exhaust manifold nuts, replace the plastic turbo oil drain pipe with the Dorman stainless steel one! It put up a fight to go in, but I expect it isn't going to bite the dust and leave me stranded on the side of the highway! The turbo has a small crack in the waste gate area, so I may get to do this job again in a few years, if I am lucky! I just had to get it thru a safety check to get it onto the road, so I didn't want to run the risk of buying a new turbo that was a dud, and leaked oil like a seive, so I installed the old one that I knew was working OK. Take care, Miles
