The energy that animates all life and gives soul to all things is sometimes called the "breath of life" or force that causes activity and change in the universe in both animate and inanimate things. It is the vital energy that flows in the body and inhabits all matter and space. Similar to Western concepts such as energy, animal magnetism, élan vital or vital energy (vitalism), it is also very similar to the Hindu concept of prāṇa or the Chinese concept regarding qì or chí. A binaural pulse is a perceived auditory illusion when two pure-tone sine waves, both with frequencies less than 1500 Hz, and with a difference of less than 40 Hz between them, are presented to a listener in a dichotic manner, that is, one to each one of the ears. For example, if a pure 530 Hz tone is presented in the subject's right ear, while a 520 Hz tone is presented in the subject's left ear, the listener will perceive the auditory illusion of a third party , in addition to the two pure tones presented in each ear. The third sound is called a binaural pulse, so in this example it would have a perceived height related to a frequency of 10 Hz, this being the difference between the 530 Hz and 520 Hz of the pure tones presented in each ear.
