After all this bad news from around the world, my family and I had a deeply heartwarming time at a World Cup game! We drove from Vermont to Boston to see England play Ghana and it was so friendly, fun, celebratory, and safe. It was so deeply satisfying to see so many foreigners all having a good time together in America, and really feeling that we are not the news in ANY country. We are just people, mostly wanting the same things in life. Peace, community, jobs, opportunity, freedom, to name a few. And that we can vote for radically different values, while still spending times together and supporting each other.
