Today I'm reacting to a video of a woman who was swimming alone in the Amazon Rainforest when she heard an animal making a loud noise from the water.. I am 99.99% sure this is a Giant Otter! One of the loudest and most vocal of all 13 otter species - it weighs about 75lbs and can get up to 6 feet in length. Although they're super cute, these guys are TOUGH and you don't wanna mess with them! Also nicknamed "River Wolves" and called "Water Jaguar" in Portuguese, they're highly territorial and have even been known to take down jaguars, caiman, and anacondas! I'll be sharing some cool physical adaptations they have to living life in the water, and what threats they face in the wild.
