For the past 11 years, we've travelled to Yunnan each spring to source something very few tea drinkers outside China ever experience: freshly made, loose Sheng Puerh (maocha) before it is purchased, blended and pressed into cakes.
This is how many tea farmers enjoy their own tea.

Young Gushu is our annual celebration of spring—a chance to taste ancient tea trees at the very beginning of their journey, when the aromas are vibrant, the energy is unmistakable and every cup captures the freshness of the mountains where it was made.
Finding the right tea is never easy.
Every year we search for an ancient-tree Sheng that delivers the fragrance, complexity and power that Gushu is famous for, while avoiding the harsh bitterness and aggressive astringency that often make young Sheng difficult to enjoy.
This year's harvest immediately stood out.
Balanced, intensely aromatic, deeply sweet and remarkably approachable for such a young tea, we believe 2026 has all the hallmarks of an exceptional vintage.
