Description
This online course — the second taught by Dr. Phillbert Cheng in a two–part series offered by Zaytuna College — continues the study of formal logic by exploring judgement, propositions, and reasoning.
Students in this course will learn how thoughts are structured, claims are tested, and arguments are formed. This course offers a sample of Zaytuna College’s singular liberal arts curriculum comprising the great works of the Islamic and Euro-American traditions.
The purpose of a classic liberal arts education is to provide the foundational tools for lifelong learning and to train students to think clearly, communicate persuasively, and contribute meaningfully to the greater good. For many, logic was considered the jewel of the trivium — grammar, logic, and rhetoric — as it cultivated the essence of what it is to be human: the ability to reason.
All of Zaytuna's online courses are available to stream on demand and available to take at your own pace.
