Brazilian Senator Flavio Bolsonaro has declared himself the country’s rightful leader after arriving in Miami, alleging that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and the Supreme Court stole the election.
Lula won by around 4.5 million votes, and the result has been recognised by Brazil’s electoral court and international observers.
“I did not flee Brazil. I left Brazil, but I did not abandon the Brazilian people,” Bolsonaro said in a letter posted on X.
He has provided no evidence to support his electoral fraud claims.
