Fighting Shop Shadows with COB LEDs // Let's Make Things Build

Make Things Video 1 months ago

Description

For years I've been fighting shadows in my shop. No matter how many lights I added, it never seemed like enough.

Instead of buying another disposable fixture, I decided to learn how LED lighting works so that I could build a custom COB lighting system made just for my workspace. Along the way I learned about LED strips, power supplies, soldering (and making it work), repairability, shadow control, and a few surprises I didn't see coming.

If you've ever wanted better lighting over your workbench, table saw, drill press, or assembly area, this project might give you a few ideas for your own shop.
