Description
A Kelso family is speaking out after they say a man tried to grab their 15-year-old daughter while she was out trick-or-treating on Halloween.
According to Kelso police, the reported incident happened around 6:55 p.m. Saturday in the area of South 7th Avenue and Laurel Street.
The 15-year-old girl, Ariah Chuinard, told officers and KATU that a man driving a white utility van had followed her for a period of time before getting out and grabbing her by the arm.
Ariah said her instincts quickly kicked in, and she kicked the suspect in the groin before running home.
"I basically took off running, and I'm going to be honest, I don't really remember the direction I went when I ran home," Ariah said. "I just did like my dad taught me. I ran as far and as fast as I could."
