Fifteen years on, I'm revisiting that list to show you what has stayed the same, what has changed, and which additional items I've added to make a near-indispensable fourteen.
These fourteen items comprise my baseline kit for real-world outdoor use. It's not a survival kit. It's also not the only kit I will take. But it is the core gear I reach for time and again when heading out to teach a bushcraft course, guiding a wilderness trip, or heading into the woods for the day.
