I had a customer who drove on a newly paved road. Within minutes of paving the road, the customer had to drive on the road. Needless to say they got tons of tar on their wheel rims and lower parts of their side skirts. The tar hardened and was not removable by just scrubbing dry or wiping dry.
I used CarPro TRIX Tar and Iron remover to rapidly remove the tar deposits from the rims. I sprayed CarPro TRIX directly onto the wheel and let it sit between 1-5 minutes. If you can remove the tar from simply using a pressure washer or garden hose then go for it. You may need to up the aggressiveness to a microfiber towel and gently rub the tar off the rims. You may need to do a few applications but you can easily remove all the tar deposits within 5 minutes making your rims look new again.
