The WordPress Block Editor finally has native responsive controls! After years of waiting this is easily THE BEST update to the Gutenberg bringing us built-in responsive styling to Full Site Editing. We can finally tweak mobile spacing, typography, and layout directly in the editor.
In this video, I take the new Gutenberg responsive settings for a test drive using the WordPress Playground. I test out mobile-specific padding, device-specific typography colours, responsive image aspect ratios, and mobile text alignment. We also look under the hood to see how WordPress generates the inline CSS for maximum speed and performance, and I show you exactly how to change the default mobile and tablet breakpoints using your theme.json file.
