Dude Dynamik on Paying Off $60K Debt, Overcoming Trauma & Dropping 26 Singles in One Year

The Progress Report Media Group Podcast 6 days ago

Description

“Don’t tell me I’m dope, tell the world” ~ Dude Dynamik

Dude Dynamik joins Lalaa Shepard of The Progress Report for a new episode of Skipping Class to discuss his journey from Cordele, Georgia to becoming a full-time independent artist and entrepreneur.

During the conversation, Dude Dynamik reflects on growing up singing in the church choir and being raised by his grandparents in a household of 12 after losing his mother to blood clots when he was just six years old. He speaks on how those early experiences shaped his discipline, faith, perspective on life, and determination to keep going despite adversity.

Dude Dynamik also discusses earning a football scholarship to Mercer University, working three to four jobs while in college, and making the decision to pay off nearly $60,000 in student loan debt before fully pursuing his music career. He breaks down the realities of being an independent artist, investing in himself, releasing 26 singles within a 12-month period, and pushing his single “Different Pocket” to more than 140 radio stations.

He also explains the meaning behind the name Dude Dynamik, his thoughts on lyrical rappers receiving backlash, the power of music, and the meaning behind his signature motto, “Don’t tell me I’m dope. Tell the world!” He even connects his approach to music and branding to Waffle House while discussing the importance of giving people something they can recognize and remember.

Dude Dynamik also previews his upcoming EP and accompanying micro-drama film series, “Dude, Is This Love?”, and shares what’s next for his career.
