If you're younger and don't know much about Van Halen, you should really check out the catalog of probably the most rocking band of all time. They are just an ass-kicking machine. Everyone knows how great Eddie Van Halen is, but in my opinion, Alex Van Halen is one of the most underrated drummers of all time. He plays a lot of tricky beats and fills along with excellent groove in accompaniment with Eddie. Girl Gone Bad (from 1984) is one my favorite Van Halen chops show-off rockers. The rhythm guitar and bass just kill and Alex shows his great style and skill. I'm sure he recorded this in one take, like "yeah, whatever." He throws in a tricky little beat during the guitar solo which requires some independence and control in an otherwise out-of-control song. Crank this song up in your car and try not to crash. Enjoy!
