Did your baby do any of these? It’s normal! #babydevelopment #occupationaltherapy #parentingtips

Description

Things like spinning, lining toys up, occasional toe walking, having strong interests, and wanting to control the play environment are very common parts of development! Young children explore their world through repetition and sensory experiences. It’s actually how their brains learn best. 🧠🥰

But since some of these actions include “buzz words” in regards to ASD, I get asked often if these things are typical for all kids. And yes, they are! A lot of these play schemes ARE a part of the way an autistic child plays as well, and that’s ok!

It’s important to look at the whole child and the intensity of these behaviors. Speak to your pediatrician if you have concerns or you notice things like spinning, toe walking, and tantrums are persistent and interfering with daily life.
