'Capricorn' distills all of Dawnwalker's epic sensibilities into a lean four minute art-rock delight. The song boasts a rousing, epic chorus with exquisite harmonised vocals and is guided by a jaunty vintage organ motif. For this album, Dawnwalker have changed up their roster, inviting talented new players into their lore. Joining bandleader, vocalist and guitarist Mark Norgate are bassist Luke Fabian (ex-Pupil Slicer), vocalist Sofia Sourianou (Lure In, Deathbloom), drummer Chris J Allan (ex-Malefice) and flautist Bella Band.
The video charts the journey of a lowly serf who receives a message from the stars, setting him on a path towards either greatness or his ultimate doom. It's a tale of prophecy and hubris that might recall the Dark Souls series or even Monty Python's Holy Grail. It stars the familiar face of Dane Cross (of UK black metallers Sacred Son) as the titular knight, while the band provides the soundtrack to his tragic fate. 'Capricorn' serves not only as an introduction to the new incarnation of Dawnwalker but showcases a whole new side of their approach to music and visual identity.
