Description
The controversy surrounding Dr. Cheyenne Bryant continues to unfold. After Pastor Jamal Bryant revealed he received a cease-and-desist over comments questioning her credentials, the conversation took another turn when Marc Lamont Hill interviewed Dr. Jaquel Pitts, president of Indiana Southwest Christian University.
During the interview, Pitts defended Cheyenne Bryant’s doctorate, explaining why the university awarded her the degree and describing it as an earned doctorate based on her professional experience and body of work. The interview has fueled an even bigger debate online about academic credentials, accreditation, professional achievement, and what qualifies someone to use the title “Doctor.”
This story has people divided. Some believe experience and impact should be recognized at the highest level, while others argue a doctorate should only come through the traditional academic path.
