Bodhi Silent Scape presents the next release from the Peace of Art Project — Chentharsaayaka, a classic and sensuous composition by Irayimman Thampi, the eminent poet of the royal Travancore court.
Chentharsaayaka is a lyrical address to the Divine Beloved, rich in longing, devotion, and romantic imagery. The poem speaks of desire, separation, and surrender, where the devotee yearns for union with the Lord, whose beauty surpasses gold and whose presence alone brings fulfilment.
This exquisite composition is composed and sung by Ranjith Jayaraman, who brings rare elegance to the piece, unfolding it across four contrasting rāgas — Saramathi, Valachi, Mohanam, and Paduvarali. The rendition culminates in a striking viloma chittaswaram, highlighting both technical brilliance and musical sensitivity.
