Description
For 38 years, American Experience has helped audiences understand the people and events that have shaped our nation.
On October 4, 1988, PBS broadcast the first American Experience documentary, THE GREAT SAN FRANCISCO EARTHQUAKE, capturing incredible testimony from living witnesses of the 1906 natural disaster. Nearly four decades — and almost 400 films — later, we continue to provide unparalleled historical record-keeping and analysis, from our definitive presidential portraits to stories of everyday Americans in moments of struggle and triumph.
With your support, we will continue to educate, inspire, and and inform generations of viewers well into the future. Your birthday gift will help fund future films, uncover new perspectives, and ensure that fact-based history remains accessible to audiences everywhere.
