Flashback to when we rescued a baby Cedar Waxwing we named Cedro. To keep him from imprinting on us, we built an origami style paper bird, painted it to match an adult waxwing, and used it to feed him cherries and fruit, so he’d bond with a “bird” instead of a human. It worked.
