In this video, I get hands-on with the Creality Falcon A1 10W Laser Engraver & Cutter and put it through a bunch of real projects. I used LightBurn for all my tests because it’s my go-to, but the Falcon A1 also works with Falcon Design Space (which is great with the built-in camera) and LaserGRBL.

Here’s what I made:

Material Test on 2 mm Plywood – I set up a 10×10 grid, running power from 10% to 100% and speeds from 100 mm/min to 1000 mm/min. This showed exactly what this machine can do for clean cuts and crisp engraving.

Engraving on a Black Aluminium Card – The detail was unreal. The fine 0.06 × 0.08 mm laser spot made it look super sharp.

Large 20×20 cm Plywood Engraving – A big piece, but the quality stayed consistent all the way across thanks to the CoreXY motion system.

Matt Colour Acrylic Engraving – This one came out beautifully, with that nice frosted look on the acrylic surface.

Mechanical Coffee Coaster (3 mm Coated Plywood) – Every part fit perfectly after cutting—no sanding needed.

Falcon A1–Themed Wall Clock (3 mm Plywood) – This one was all cutting, no engraving. I spray-painted the pieces to give it some extra style.

Why I like the Falcon A1:

Comes fully assembled and enclosed, so it’s safe to use right away.

Class 1 Laser Safety Certified – has tinted covers that block 99% of the laser light, a lid-open stop, and an emergency button.

Built-in HD camera – lets you see and position your design exactly where you want it on your material.

Auto material recognition – with QR cards to quickly set up the right settings.

CoreXY motion system – up to 600 mm/s speed and 0.01 mm accuracy, so it’s fast and super precise.

10W laser power with a tiny spot size for detailed engraving and clean cuts on wood, acrylic, leather, coated metals, and more.

Air assist & smoke extraction built in—keeps edges clean and the workspace clear.

Everything I made in this video was done with LightBurn, but if you’re new to laser engraving, Falcon Design Space is also really beginner-friendly, especially with that camera preview.
