President Donald Trump has named Stephen Miller his new White House Chief of Staff, replacing Susie Wiles. In a shocking move the Friday after the midterm elections where Republicans lost big, Trump wrote on Truth social that he’ll start Monday.
Before news broke of Miller’s promotion, there was some speculation the chief architect of Trump’s immigration crackdown would be ousted.
This is particularly unsettling as Miller’s documented hatred toward minority groups has been made publicly on the record.
In a leaked video from 2003, a then 17-year-old Miller described the torture of Iraqis in gruesome detail as the group erupts in laughter, saying: “Torture is a celebration of human life and dignity.”
