Jimmy "Mr. Jimmy" Sakurai (@mrjimmylzr and Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Evening) began studying Jimmy Page's guitar style over 40 years ago when he was 17 years old. In the decades since, Sakurai's devotion to Page has become legendary. It was even the subject of a documentary titled "Mr. Jimmy."
Sakurai has acquired exact replicas of every guitar, amp, and acoustic instrument that Page used live. Not only does he match Page's playing note-for-note, but he also matches Page's clothing.
In this episode of Board To Death, Sakurai takes us through the effects he uses to meticulously reproduce the sounds Page created across Led Zeppelin's catalog (including his preferred source for recreating one very important fuzz tone).
