In this tutorial, we take a look at how to harmonize birthday song in F# Major scale. Harmonizing melody essentially means adding chords that fit the melody. We play chords using left hand and melody using the right hand.
Also explained how we count in 3/4 or waltz time in Carnatic Classical music . This time signature is known as Trisra Jaati Eka Taalam in Carnatic music.
We don't play a chord in the first measure. Measures 2 thru 7 we play a chord at the beginning of the measure and hold it for 3 beats. In the 8th measure we play two chords , first 2 beats of the measure we play F# Major and third beat we play C# Major. If you can't switch the chords quickly, you can play F# Major for the entire duration of the 8th measure.
