Hi guys! Welcome to the most delicious recipe for Bacon Wrapped Cheesy Dates! This recipe is so simple and only requires a few ingredients, but people LOVE these things. They are easy to eat, everybody loves them, the perfect appetizer or dish for any party! Whether it's a holiday, birthday, or Superbowl and you want to bring the best app, look no further. It's even a tasty snack and they are best when warmed!
Here is what you'll need:
Package of dates (pitted or non pitted)
Robusto Cheese (or whichever cheese you'd prefer, I want to try bleu cheese for this recipe too!)
Bacon (cut each slice in half)
Brown Sugar
Pepper
-Start by cutting open your dates and removing the pit
-If the pit has already been removed, open the dates and add a chunk of cheese in the center
-close the date with the cheese inside
-wrap a half piece of bacon around the date and secure it with a toothpick
-roll each date in the brown sugar/pepper mixture
-line up dates in baking dish
-Bake on 375F for 15-20 mins
-Broil the bacon till it gets crispy on the top
-Remove the dates from the bacon dish, discard the bacon grease, remove the toothpicks
-Turn the dates over so the top part that was just broiled is now on the bottom and insert new toothpicks
-Put back in oven and broil again till bacon is cooked on all sides
-Remove from the oven and let cool on a plate with paper towels to remove excess bacon grease
-Serve warm
-refrigerate leftovers and warm again in microwave
