The Indian Banks' Association (IBA) has released a new DA circular dated 2 November 2026, announcing the revised Dearness Allowance (DA) rate for bank employees for November 2026, December 2026 and January 2027.
As per the latest IBA circular, the DA rate for bank Workmen and Officer employees has increased to 31.33% of Pay, compared to the previous rate of 27.83%.

DA CALCULATION EXPLAINED
The revised DA is calculated on the basis of the All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW).
CPI-IW Figures:
- July 2026: 153.2
- August 2026: 154.4
- September 2026: 155.5
Average CPI for July–September 2026: 154.36
Base CPI: 123.03
New DA Calculation:
154.36 – 123.03 = 31.33%
Therefore, the revised DA rate is 31.33% of Pay.
HOW MUCH WILL BANK EMPLOYEES GET?
The DA increase is 3.50 percentage points. Here are some illustrative examples of additional monthly DA:
- Pay ₹30,000: Additional DA ₹1,050
- Pay ₹40,000: Additional DA ₹1,400
- Pay ₹50,000: Additional DA ₹1,750
- Pay ₹60,000: Additional DA ₹2,100
- Pay ₹70,000: Additional DA ₹2,450
- Pay ₹80,000: Additional DA ₹2,800
Note: These are illustrative calculations based on the 3.50 percentage point increase on Pay. Actual DA calculation depends on the applicable settlement provisions.
