Bold and brass-driven, 'Checkin' Out the Vibe' is a modern take on bluesy classic rock. Alex Ward provides stinging guitar licks while Dave Brammer and Jamie Wall's brass arrangement pays homage to the Muscle Shoals songbook.
Al Ross: "Prior to lockdown, we recorded most of this track at Abbey Road. When the lockdown hit, I decided to change the lyrics and wrote about being stuck inside all day, but that was just depressing. In the end, I went for a more positive message, expressing an urge to fly away from this dead-end town and to start living again. We all love The Rolling Stones album 'Sticky Fingers' which was a huge influence on us. I was very keen to make a track that would put a smile on people's faces, get their feet tapping, make them feel positive after a pretty horrendous period and vibe out! We are known as a very energetic live band and we were keen to record a track that would easily slot into our live repertoire and get everyone rocking - so this is it!"
