General (retired) Suhag was the Army chief from July 31, 2014, to December 31, 2016. He was also part of the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) in Sri Lanka in 1987.

An agreement to develop the island was inked in 2015 between India and Seychelles.
In June last year, Seychelles President Danny Faure visited India during which both countries agreed to work together on the Assumption Island project.

In September 1991, Sunder Lal Patwa, the then chief minister of Madhya Pradesh had ordered, Indore SP Anil Kumar Dhasmana for the cleansing of notorious criminal Bala Baig’s, illicit trafficking and brothels hideout, which was in a dense slum area, where even the bravest police feared to tread; a mini Mumbai mafia set-up. This was in the midst of communal riots, in Indore, which raged from 1989, as aftermath to Ayodhya Shilanyas on November 9, 1989[5]. His bodyguard Chedilal Dubey was martyred in the operation trying to save him from a Batan (stone), which is used to grind spices in India.[6]
Biography
He was born on 2 October 1957 in Pauri, Uttarakhand from a nepali origin family and holds an M.Com. degree from Uttar Pradesh.[7] He is 1981-batch Madhya Pradesh cadre IPS officer and was appointed on 3 December 1981.[8] His domain of expertise is considered to be Balochistan, counter-terrorism and Islamic affairs.[9][10] He also has a vast experience on Pakistan and Afghanistan. He has served in key capitals, including London and Frankfurt and has also handled SAARC and Europe desks. Before being appointed as the Director, he was posted from 13 March 2015 as a Special Secretary at Cabinet Secretariat, New Delhi.[8]

Socialite Bina Ramani, her husband George Mailhot and daughter Malini Ramani were today arrested under various provisions of the Excise Act in the sensational Jessica Lal murder case of April 29.
The police said they were arrested for violating various provisions of the Excise Act including running an illegal bar at their restaurant and employing a woman bartender for serving liquor.
The restaurant, Tamarind Court, at Mehrauli in South Delhi where Jessica Lal was shot dead on April 29 at 0200 hrs, belongs to Bina Ramani. The restaurant did not have a license to sell liquor.
Joint commissioner of police (South) Amod Kanth had admitted that there was an attempt to destroy evidence as many things had been apparently removed from the scene of the crime. Many liquor bottles had been removed and blood had been washed away.
According to the FIR, Bina Ramani who was the host of the party (at the restaurant where the murder took place) had kept foreign liquor at her restaurant without any license.
A senior police official said the charge against Bina Ramani and her Canadian husband that they being foreign nationals, were illegally running businesses in India, would also be investigated. George Mailhot is a Canadian citizen while Bina Ramani is a British passport holder. The police official indicated that their passports could also be seized.
