California just took another HUGE step toward making E85 conversion kits legal! 🚗⛽
Assembly Bill AB 2046 has officially passed the Assembly Transportation Committee and now heads to the Assembly Appropriations Committee. If this bill continues to move forward and is signed by Governor Gavin Newsom, it could completely change the availability of E85 conversion kits in California.
Instead of forcing manufacturers through the lengthy and expensive CARB Executive Order (EO) approval process, AB 2046 would allow EPA-certified E85 conversion kits to be legally sold and installed in California.
This could mean:
✅ More E85 conversion kits available
✅ More competition
✅ Lower prices
✅ More consumer choice
✅ The ability to legally run E85 using federally approved conversion kits
E85 is often significantly cheaper than regular gasoline, and many drivers enjoy the increased octane and potential fuel savings. While E85 isn't the right choice for every vehicle or every driver, this bill could give Californians another legal option at the pump.
