The 6K8G mixer/oscillator tube was introduced by RCA in 1938, and used as an oscillator/converter tube in domestic broadcast/shortwave radios from the late 1930's to the end of the 1940's.
The control grid is connected to the ''top cap'' of the tube.
The tube is NOS (New Old Stock) manufactured in Canada by the Canadian Westinghouse Company
