This fish is called wild oscar cichlid, or Astronotus ocellatus wild.
I’m not completely certain where she bumped her head. It might’ve been the driftwood, the duckbill nozzle, or maybe the aquarium lid. I decided to cut the driftwood b/c I’ve seen her get scratched by it. She is a typical oscar. She does once in a while do a lightning fast zoomies. That’s how she hurts herself. This happens mostly at night. I might one day decide to take everything out of the tank. Not sure yet.
Whenever I take my shirt off, or wear a white shirt, she turns pale. I think it stresses her out for some reason. I don’t think I look that bad, uh, with a white shirt on.
The two plecos are doing fine. It’s really hard to get the golden nugget to grow. The golden nugget is the top dog of this tank. He attacks the white pleco and even the oscar sometimes. He seems to be very territorial. It’s very surprising.
Karto has pretty much died 5 times already. Once, he didn’t eat for 10 days. Then one day, he bounced back. Every time I think he’s a goner, he bounces back. I really do think adding the filter really helped with his longevity. I’m not sure if he’ll live long enough to see the first snow of the year.
I never trimmed the sweet potatoes roots this time around. The leaves did die off then regrew multiple times.
Other tanks’ updates will come in the near future. Some things have changed. I still have the volcano tank. A few tetras are still alive. I'll be changing the setup of that tank and will do an update.

I bent the acrylic pipe with a lighter. to make a big angle bends like 90 degrees or more, you heat the pipe half inch apart and bend those points. don't bend one spot only to make a big angle.
