Triumph Speed Twin 1200 TFC has been priced at Rs. 20.99 lakh ex-showroom India. Wow, that was quick. Right after its global unveil yesterday, we thought the limited special will take some time to come to our market, well-done Triumph India. The limited-edition modern classic is now listed on Triumph Motorcycles India’s official website confirming that Indian customers will receive access to one of the brand’s most exclusive current motorcycles. Only 750 examples will be produced for global markets. Not merely a standard motorcycle wearing a special paint scheme and a numbered badge, Triumph has changed the riding position, suspension, brakes, exhaust, bodywork and finish to create a more focused cafe racer appeal. Each Speed Twin 1200 TFC carries an individual production number laser-etched beside the TFC logo on its billet aluminium upper triple clamp. It also comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, a branded motorcycle cover and a waterproof seat cover. We’ve mentioned all of this in our earlier story on the TFC today, but here’s a refresher. TFC has clip-on handlebars and rear-set footpegs, placing the rider lower and further forward to make the motorcycle feel more involved. Less comfort in city traffic though, so plan accordingly. Suspension is by Ohlins at both ends and offers adjustment for preload, compression and rebound damping. The motorcycle’s appearance is defined by its Obsidian Gold finish. This dark metallic base contains gold particles that become more visible as the light changes. Black engine covers, fork sliders, control plates and other components create a darker foundation. A gold chain and gold-anodised suspension parts add contrast. Polish finished carbon fibre is used for the front and rear mudguards, heel guards and sculpted side panels. Its solo seat is made of black leather with high-grip suede and gets ribbed detailing with hand-finished stitching. Brembo Stylema callipers, a Brembo radial master cylinder and an adjustable MCS lever should provide strong stopping power and a more controlled response at the lever. Seven-spoke cast aluminium wheels wear Metzeler Racetec RR K3 tyres. Triumph’s 1,200cc parallel-twin produces a healthy 104bhp at 7,750rpm and 112Nm at 4,250rpm. This engine concentrates on strong low- and mid-range response allowing the rider to access its performance without constantly nearing the limiter. The 270-degree crankshaft gives the engine a deeper firing character than a conventional even-firing parallel twin. Those twin Akrapovic titanium silencers will further add the necessary drama.
