Bannack was founded as a gold mining town in 1862. Bannack served as the first territorial capital of Montana from 1864 to 1865.
This year was the 50th anniversary of "Bannack Days," and although I've been to the ghost town a number of times, this was my first time attending the annual celebration. I look forward to coming back!
