I was gonna put a significant lyric from the song first, but the whole thing is just relatable to the core. If it wasn’t for that feeling & matched energy..I don’t even know if I would have come out of this experience as positive & hopeful as I have since this amazing last weekend. This dance was inspired by my current scattered mind, the aching body 24/7, my past, the future, the helplessness..and my relationship with all that towards my dance..how expressing myself through creativity is has been giving me life all this time since I was young..and realizing that these uncomfortable changes are not against me like I once thought. I still can’t believe that I performed & taught last weekend. I really thought at one point in my life that I had to be done..After dancing here, I had a rush of emotions just from the past years..especially when the lyrics “how do I get you to understand me” hit when I finished what I thought was impossible...that really poured out from under my skin considering that’s how I felt this whole time with isolating from the world dealing with my chronic pain & being diagnosed with these mental disorders. I’m rambling way more than I meant to with posting this, but damn am I just so grateful and wish I was well spoken enough to find the right words to explain this sense of weight lifted from my shoulders. Can’t wait to keep learning about myself & start feeling life again. Thank you to everyone that was a part of the @asuwae @uwhhsa @hubatuw show & workshops. I really appreciate you all for sharing this very memorable moment in my life with me. -Daniel ..
