Win11Debloat Github warning | JoeteckTips
⚠️ Important Warning About the Win11Debloat GitHub Script
The Win11Debloat script is a powerful Windows 11 debloating and system-modification tool that makes deep changes to the operating system, including removing services, apps, scheduled tasks, telemetry components, and modifying system policies.
⚠️ This script should only be run by experienced and trusted users who fully understand what each change does.
Running it blindly or without reviewing the code can result in:
Broken Windows features
Disabled updates or security components
Unexpected system behavior
Difficulty reversing changes without reinstalling Windows
Because of these risks, it is strongly recommended that this script be reviewed, customized, and executed only by a known expert or advanced user who understands Windows internals.
✅ Safer Modified Version Available
Joeteck (JoeteckTips) has created a modified version of the Win11Debloat script designed to be more user-aware and controlled.
This version:
Prompts the user with questions before making changes
Allows you to approve or skip individual actions
Reduces the risk of accidental or unwanted system modifications
Is better suited for users who want transparency and control
Even with these safeguards, you should still review the script and understand the implications of each choice before proceeding.
🔧 Bottom line:
Win11Debloat is powerful, not beginner-friendly, and should never be run without understanding what it changes. If you’re not an expert, use a guided or modified version—such as Joeteck’s—or consult someone who is.
I am not discrediting the author of the powershell script. I am worried about a compromised script and copycats of fake links to malicious code.
https://www.joeteck.com/dl/Joeteck_Debloat11.txt This is my modified script that asks questions. Again, use at your own risk. I've ran both.
This is the original script: https://joeteck.com/dl/Debloat11[12-19-2025].txt
copy and paste this in powershell first: Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned
