Wildfires burn in municipalities near Algeria's Blida, about forty kilometres southwest of Algiers. Fires have been ravaging northern Algeria for several days amid high temperatures, with authorities saying they have mobilised significant resources to fight them. Every summer, northern Algeria is struck by forest fires, a phenomenon exacerbated by drought and climate change.
