Description
"Wichita Lineman" is a 1968 song written by Jimmy Webb for American country music artist Glen Campbell, who recorded it backed by members of the Wrecking Crew. Widely covered by other artists, it has been called "the first existential country song". wikipedia
This song is one of those times when all elements come together to make an outstanding record. Produced by Al De Lory, who created the awesome string arrangements. Add the "Wrecking Crew, and Glen Campbell's beautiful vocals which brought to life Jimmy Webb's lyrics, melody, and chord changes to create a cinematic masterpiece.
My video is an abridged arrangement, omitting the solo. I wasn't satisfied with the audio and decided to over-dub the guitar and vocal and added bass and percussion. It's important to note that the guitar you're hearing is a wooden dreadnought and not the guitar in the video. No AI was used and instead I went with LI (limited intelligence). ; - ) Enjoy. - FK
