Description
Thorin, Nymaera and Peter Dun open on the G2 coaching change and the question nobody in the scene asked honestly: what would the move actually have had to deliver to count as a success?
Peter Dun argues the G2 coaching switch was a management decision, not a Perkz decision, and that swapping in a rookie head coach at the end of a two year project that had already produced a First Stand run and a best of 5 win over T1 at MSI was setting that coach up to fail. Thorin calls it possibly the most unfair firing he has seen, since the sacked coach won the splits and beat Gen.G and T1, and says the reported reason was scrim form rather than official results. Nymaera reads the org and player messaging after Worlds and concludes nobody involved treated it as a success. The crew then argue over whether quarterfinals was the real bar, why G2 could not take a single best of 1 off an LCK or LPL side this year, and whether Riot should scrap best of 1 in the Swiss stage entirely.
