Why Monster Truck Shows Block the Front Rows... 😳

Ever wonder why modern monster truck shows leave the lower bleachers completely empty? This video is exactly why. See the end clip.

Way back in 1999, I headed down to California for my first official FMX competitions in USA on a YZ250. Everyone was on 2-strokes. But after seeing Trevor Vines launching a big 4-stroke thumper and hearing how deep it echoed indoors, I went home, converted my YZ400, and became the second guy in the world pushing 4-stroke freestyle.

Back then, my fellow riders thought I was crazy. Looking back, history is a funny thing because now they’re almost ALL 4-strokes.

But the bikes weren’t the only crazy thing in the stadium. These early 2000s shows were wild west motorsport. One minute you're watching the legendary Bigfoot 8 go vertical and flip backwards right next to your ramps. The next minute, the Austin 3.16 truck lands so hard it knocks the driver completely unconscious—sending a 10,000lb machine running wild straight into the bleachers.

Luckily, the crew hit the remote interrupter killswitch literal feet from the crowd.

Who else remembers when stadium shows were this unhinged? 🔵⚡️
