Description
Michael (@TheWordCartographer) and Richard explore the languages of communities shaped by migration and long distance mobility, with a focus on Jewish and Kurdish communities. They will discuss how languages survive or shift across generations, how they interact with local languages, and how multilingual networks form in new settings. They also talk about what it means to learn these languages through family, community access, or study. This discussion took place on 21st February 2026 to mark International Mother Language Day.
